How to submit a URL reclassification request

The Web Security product uses many techniques to ensure a URL is classified correctly however from time to time an existing URLs may require reclassifying. You can request a URL reclassification from within the Web Security product in a number of ways.

Submit a reclassification during URL lookup

  1. Navigate to Products, Web Security and then Filter Rules.
  2. Click the lookup icon (eye) in the top right hand panel
  1. Enter the URL that has been incorrectly classified and click Lookup.
  1. Confirm the category, or categories listed, is incorrect. If you believe the displayed category is incorrect click the Reclassify icon.
  2. Complete the reclassification form as detailed below:
  • Suggested Category - select the new category that you think the URL belongs to.
  • Reason - optionally enter a reason for requesting a reclassification - this helps the reclassification team process the request.
  • Send notification when classification changes - ensure that your email address is entered correctly in order to receive an email update when your reclassification has been processed.
The URL Lookup icon is also accessible from the Custom URL section.

Submit a reclassification from the Web Activity report

  1. Navigate to Analytics, Web Security and then select the Web Activity by Hits or Web Activity by Visits report
  2. Locate the URL entry in the reports which has an incorrect classification. You can use the filters to search for the URL specifically if you need to.
  3. Click the Reclassify icon next to the URL in the result. Note that you can verify the current category for the URL by viewing the Web Category column in the results.
  4. Complete the reclassification form as detailed below:
    • Suggested Category - select the new category that you think the URL belongs to.
    • Reason - optionally enter a reason for requesting a reclassification - this helps the reclassification team process the request.
    • Send notification when classification changes - ensure that your email address is entered correctly in order to receive an email update when your reclassification has been processed.
